Tangalle – The Serene Southern Escape

Tangalle, located on the deep southern coast of Sri Lanka, marks the spot where the pristine white sands of the southwest transition into the more rugged, golden, rocky coves of the southeast. Rekawa is internationally renowned for its turtle conservation project, where visitors can undertake guided night walks to witness majestic sea turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs under the moonlight.

While the ocean here can be rougher, with strong currents making swimming challenging in some parts, the beauty of the landscape more than compensates. Nearby attractions such as the serene Mulkirigala Rock Temple, an ancient monastic complex built into a giant rock, add a touch of spiritual history to this deeply relaxing coastal paradise.
